«Portugal faces an increasing frequency and intensity of extreme weather events: heatwaves, flash floods, intense winds, wildfires, prolonged droughts, and severe coastal phenomena.
These events place significant pressure on transport infrastructure, housing, energy and telecommunications networks, agricultural land, forests, and the State’s response capacity.
Rather than discussing scenarios, this session proposes a reflection on what must happen next: how can different sectors prepare the country for extreme weather events?
The Técnico Alumni platform and the Técnico Alumni Association (AAAIST) are pleased to announce the event “After the Storm: Preparing the Country for Extreme Weather Events”, on 15 April, at Técnico Innovation Center powered by Fidelidade.»
