The IST Department of Physics (DF), the Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion (IPFN) and the Centre for Photographic Art (NAF) will organise a photo contest to celebrate the International Day of Light 2021.
Participants should share their vision on a curious feature of light, whether scientific, technical, artistic or inspiring.
The International Day of Light is a global initiative that provides a platform for the continued appreciation of light andCthe role it plays in science, culture and art, education and sustainable development, and in fields as diverse as medicine, communications and energy. It was proclaimed at the General Conference of UNESCO in November 2017 and the first celebration took place on 16th May 2018.
The contest runs from May 16 to June 16, 2021, at 24:00, and is open to secondary school students, higher education students, and the general public.
