Técnico+ Talk “5G: The influence of Technology on Exposure to Electromagnetic Radiation”

In-person & online

Técnico+ is pleased to announce the talk “5G: The influence of Technology on Exposure to Electromagnetic Radiation”, on 27th October, from 18:00 to 19:00, in a hybrid format. The talk will address the exposure to electromagnetic radiation in communications systems.

Venue: Alameda Campus, North Tower (EA1 room)

Zoom live streaming is available, subject to prior registration.

About the event:
We begin by addressing the exposure to electromagnetic radiation in communications systems. Next, the differences between the 5th Generation (5G) system with those of previous generations are described. Although the radio interface of 5G has many similarities to the previous generation, the use of active/adaptive antennas in the 3.6 GHz band introduces differences that have to be taken into consideration. Also, the use of towers by multiple operators should be analysed. Finally, we look to the future of 5G, namely with regard to new frequency bands (millimetre waves).
