The interdisciplinary thematic network Smart Urban Mobility – redeMOV – at Universidade de Lisboa, is pleased to announce the conference “Pedestrian accessibility in the City of Lisbon: a sp at 5 p.m., in atial model based on factors affecting walkability” on 28 April, in TTC@ULisboa’s auditorium, as part of the “Conversas à Terça” conference series.

In this session of “Conversas à Terça,” redeMOV discusses walkability in Lisbon, assessing the ease of walking in the context of sustainable mobility. The study presented was developed as part of a dissertation and is part of the AccessCity4All project. It considers factors such as proximity to services, urban density, and building accessibility, including elevators. Based on spatial analysis methods and the 15-Minute City, differences between neighborhoods were identified. Although Lisbon generally has good suitability for active modes of transport, the results reveal disparities in neighborhoods with older buildings or poor service coverage. The proposed model aims to support policy decisions for more sustainable, integrated, and equitable urban mobility.

The redeMOV organises the “Conversas à Terça”, a monthly conference series that aims to be a space for debate and reflection on urban mobility.
