  • Speaker: Professor Nuno Marques da Costa, Institute of Geography and Spatial Planning (IGOT)
  • Title: “Mobilidade Quotidiana dos Idosos em Período de Pandemia” (“The Daily Mobility of the Elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic”)
  • Abstract: Demographic ageing is an increasingly evident reality in our cities. The older generations are the most diverse, with the most diversified characteristics and the most distinctive capacities and needs.
Knowledge of their daily mobility needs, their ability to access resources and different opportunities is a fundamental element in improving their quality of life and well-being. The Grampcity project aimed to answer these questions, in particular, to understand how Covid-19 has changed the daily lives of elderly people. It is the preliminary results of this project that we intend to present and discuss.

“Conversas às Sexta” brings together the academic community, regulatory bodies, operators and companies involved in transport systems to promote research and innovation, disseminate and mobilise for funding opportunities and respond to the challenges posed by society.
