Workshop – “Current state of the Circular Economy in Portugal”

Técnico - Alameda campus

The Portuguese Environment Agency is developing, in collaboration with Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), the new Action Plan for the Circular Economy.

The workshop “Current state of the Circular Economy in Portugal”, will take place on 4th November 2022, at 2 p.m., in IST Congress Centre. The workshop is coordinated by professor Ana Carvalho, in collaboration with professors Paulo Ferrão and Fernanda Margarido. The event will bring together several stakeholders to discuss the current state of the Circular Economy in Portugal.

The Circular Economy aims to generate a chain in which everything is transformed and nothing or little is wasted, maximizing the economic value of materials, products and services, thus avoiding the consumption of new raw materials and eliminating the creation of waste.

An urgent concept, the Circular Economy is based on several «R», such as Reduction, Reuse, Recovery, Recycling… and Social Responsibility. Because the Environment is not just a problem of a country, but of the world and the preservation of the Planet is a task for all and not just for a few.
