6th meeting of Student Groups Forum

The session brought together representatives of Técnico’s Student Groups to evaluate the activities undertaken and to create an action plan.

The Corporate Partnerships Unit at Técnico (NPE) organised the 6th meeting of Student Groups Forum, aiming to evaluate the activities undertaken and to create an action plan. The session was attended by Professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira, Vice-president for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Relations, professor Raquel Aires-Barros, President of Pedagogic Council, Nuno Guerreiro, student member of Pedagogic Council, Carla Patrocínio, Coordinator of the Technology Transfer Office (TT@IST) and representatives of the student groups.

According to professor Luís Caldas de Oliveira, these meetings are important “to evaluate how the link between Técnico and students has been evolving and to outline new strategies”. The representatives of the student groups talked about the strategies that allowed to increase student participation in past events. “We have reason to congratulate ourselves. IST Career Weeks have been growing a lot, but require an exhaustive work of Student Groups”, said Nuno Guerreiro who is also the President of Fórum Mecânica.

Técnico Business Cards, Técnico Job Bank and Pitch BootCamp@Técnico were some of the topics approached during the session. “Técnico is concerned about the way you present yourselves in the labour market. Our aim is to provide you with the necessary tools to successfully enter the labour market”, pointed out the Vice-president of Técnico for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Relations.
