The results of the latest survey on the professional situation of graduates from Instituto Superior Técnico at the Universidade de Lisboa are now available. The 18th Survey, conducted annually by the Técnico Graduate Employability Observatory, focuses on 2nd cycle graduates who completed their courses during the 2022/23 academic year, providing insights into their professional integration after graduation.
Among the graduates surveyed, over 96% are employed, with most transitioning into the job market shortly after completing their courses. Notably, 86% secured their first job within six months of finishing their studies.
An analysis of the professional situation shows that employment is the most common form of integration, accounting for 78% of graduates. Within this group, around 71% have a permanent employment contract, highlighting the prevalence of stable contractual relationships in the early stages of professional life. In terms of remuneration, the average monthly salary (gross) is €2,401. The international dimension of these graduates’ professional careers is also noteworthy: around 25% are working internationally, either outside Portugal or for employers based abroad.
The survey also includes indicators relating to academic experience, revealing that 85.5% of graduates say they are satisfied with their journey at Técnico.
Responses were collected between March and December 2025, with a total of 1,324 graduates surveyed and a response rate of 35.5%. The data now compiled illustrates these graduates’ transition to the job market and their professional conditions at an early stage of their careers.
Conducted on a regular basis, the Graduate Employability Observatory survey is a tool for monitoring the professional integration of Técnico graduates, providing data that illustrates their situation in the job market, including information broken down by course and training area.
