The event brought together Técnico alumni, professors and current students.

The 4th Alumni meetingGame Lab, held on 15th November, brought together 25 former students who attended the MSc course in Information Systems and Computer Engineering (Games curricular units), current students and professors. “This meeting brought together, for the first time, the first generation of students and the 2018/2019 recent graduates”, stresses Diogo Rato, member of the Game Lab team.

As in previous editions, the event included a social interaction and lectures. Nuno Afonso (ex-Lead Programmer – CD Projekt Red), António Machado (Junior Gameplay Programmer– ZPX) and André Fonseca (Gameplay Programmer- Splash Damage) “shared their professional journeys, challenges, sacrifices and important decisions they had to make to achieve success”, recalls Diogo Rato. This was followed by a panel discussion with the three speakers and the alumni Gonçalo Delgado (Miniclip) and João Catarino (Phantasma Chain).

“These meetings are an opportunity for current students understand how the video game industry really works, to learn more about the recruitment process and the technologies used in large companies”, says Diogo Rato.
