IST Press published the 4th edition of the book “Geoestatística Para as Ciências da Terra e do Ambiente” (“Geostatistics for Earth and Environmental Sciences”), by Amílcar Soares.

The book covers a wide variety of topics that range from the basic principles of spatial characterisation of physical phenomena and natural resources, through Geostatistical tools, to the most advanced concepts of characterisation of spatial uncertainty and risk through stochastic simulation models. These are fundamental tools and methods for risk assessment in environmental applications, assessment of mineral reserves, and characterisation of petroleum reservoirs.
