More than 9000 students are taking classes remotely with the support of more than 750 professors

A survey has been launched for students and faculty, in order to assess their satisfaction with the solutions found to ensure Técnico’s teaching activities.

The final period of the second semester of the academic year 2019/2020 began this week. Almost all Técnico courses were held remotely: more than 9000 students are taking classes remotely, with the support of more than 750 professors. To keep up with this rapid change, which some have already called “Emergency Remote Teaching”, the commitment of all members of Técnico community was essential.

The Pedagogical Council (CP) and the Governing Board (CG), with the support of the Statistics and Prospective Unit (NEP), launched a survey for students and faculty. Overall, 80% of faculty and almost 50% of students responded to the survey. The results are available at NEP website.

The survey not only analysed the different user profiles and the technologies involved, but also assessed the degree of satisfaction with the solutions found to ensure Técnico’s teaching activities (77% students and 75% of professors are satisfied or very satisfied).

In order to support Técnico faculty and to share teaching and research experiences in this context, CP and CG launched the SaRTRE website, which summarizes all relevant information at this stage and, in particular, provides information about the next training courses for faculty on remote assessment.

Técnico’s governing bodies would like to thank the entire Técnico community for their collaboration and commitment.
