As part of the celebrations of the International Day of Light 2021, celebrated on May 16, the Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion (IPFN), with the collaboration of the Department of Physics (DF) and the Centre for Photographic Art (NAF) organised a photo contest under the theme “Light”.

The winners were: Margarida Kalinichenko – “Secondary school students” category, Ana Trigo – “Higher education students” category, and Andreia Barroso – “General public” category. Each one received the book “Haja Luz!” by professor Jorge Calado.

The photo contest took place from May 16 to June 16, 2021, and included three different categories. 45 participants submitted nearly 70 photographs – each participant could submit up to 3 photographs. The jury was chaired by Carlos M. Fernandes (NAF), professor João Mendanha Dias (DF) and Diana Amado (IPFN).
