Instituto Superior Técnico, part of the Universidade de Lisboa, has been ranked 2nd in the ‘Brand Reputation in Portugal’ ranking within the Higher Education category for the fifth consecutive year (2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025).
When looking at brands with a ‘Reputation for Excellence’ rating of over 80 points, Técnico placed 3rd among top executives (C-level) and 6th among opinion leaders in economics and politics.
The data comes from the RepScore2026 study, developed by the consulting firm OnStrategy. The methodology used combines two complementary dimensions: a qualitative component, centred on spontaneous perceptions of brand positioning, and a quantitative component, which measures reputation levels in an induced manner. The assessment focuses on emotional indicators – such as notoriety, trust, consideration, preference, recommendation and admiration – and rational ones like innovation, ethics, social responsibility, leadership, working environment and overall performance.
Since 2009, OnStrategy has promoted the RepScore study, which is internationally certified for financial and strategic brand evaluation. The analysis relies on a representative sample of the Portuguese population, taking into account factors such as geographical distribution, gender, age, and education level.
