tb.lx by Daimler Trucks & Buses assigns scholarship and mentoring network to student of Técnico

A scholarship that's not just a scholarship. It's so much more than that. That's what tb.lx by Daimler Trucks & Buses decided to assign to a student of Técnico.

This Tuesday, May 17th, Técnico hosted another ceremony to award a scholarship. The award ceremony took place at the Civil Engineering Museum and was attended by the selected student, Margarida Lourenço, the representatives of tb.lx by Daimler Trucks & Buses and Professor Paulo Correia, representing the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC). The scholarship award program was articulated with the Technical Academic Development Center (NDA).”

Professor Alexandre Francisco, vice president for academic affairs on behalf of the Técnico, who began by thanking the patron’s initiative “to support our students to help them at this stage of their lives, because sometimes the cost of living in Lisbon and everything involved and being here for five years studying is not easy”, he said.

The ceremony followed by signing of the protocol for the award of the scholarship, after which the student said a few words of recognition for the importance of awarding the scholarship to her academic career, committing to continue to study “in order to acquire the necessary knowledge to one day contribute to a greater cause, as tb.lx does when seeking to promote greater sustainability of transport.”

In response the company said that wanted to donate more than a scholarship, indicating that they want to be a support network in the life phase of this student and provide her with “a mentoring network, access to our software engineers, to our product teams,” said Sara Gorjão, representative of tb.lx by Daimler Trucks & Buses.

Professor Paulo Correia also thanked the company’s initiative, expressing its joy for “have been a student of the degree in electrotechnical engineering of computers to receive this scholarship”.
