The new Board of the Técnico Alumni Association (AAAIST) took office on 16 December 2025, during the Ordinary and Electoral General Assembly. The ceremony was held at Técnico – Alameda campus and marked the end of the term of office of the previous governing bodies of AAAIST, signaling the beginning of a new cycle for the 2025–2027 biennium.
The new AAAIST Board will be chaired by Francisco Moitinho de Almeida, with Paula Silva (Vice-President), Nuno Pereira (Secretary), Pedro Amaral (Member), Raquel Castanheira (Member) and Guilherme Farinha (Alternate Member). The other elected governing bodies were also sworn in: the General Assembly Board, chaired by Ana Dias Fonseca, with João Henriques (Vice-President) and Adriano Prates (Secretary); and the Supervisory Board, chaired by Maria Isabel Ribeiro, with Beatriz Mendes and Luís Caldas de Oliveira (Members).
At the inauguration, Francisco Moitinho de Almeida shared his commitment to continue promoting the “main project that the Association has embraced in recent years: to grow a Solidarity Fund that ensures that no student is prevented from studying due to financial difficulties”. The new president also acknowledged the work carried out by the previous board, led by Ana Dias, stating that “it is of enormous value”. Addressing the new team, he emphasised the importance of “staying focused”, seeking to involve a growing number of former students and strengthening the involvement of the Técnico Alumni Network in this mission.
With the start of this term, AAAIST, founded on 17 July 1986, reaffirms its commitment to maintaining and reinforcing the connection between Técnico and its former students, contributing to the “strengthening of the alumni community and the promotion of cooperation and social solidarity among its members”, in line with its statutory objectives.
