The postgraduate training school at Instituto Superior Técnico (Técnico+) is part of the ecosystem of the European AI4Gov-X project—an initiative co-funded by the European Commission that brings together 41 partners from 21 European Union member states, including academic institutions, government entities, and companies. The initiative focuses on the digital transformation of the European public sector through the development of advanced skills in key areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Spaces (DS), and Digital Governance Transformation (DGT).
In this context, several courses offered by Técnico+ have been officially recognised by the project as extracurricular activities, allowing individual participants to apply for European financial support to cover training-related expenses.
What is the Cascade Funding Call?
A European Commission mechanism that offers financial assistance to individuals participating in AI4Gov-X training and extracurricular activities, including registration, travel, and accommodation costs. If an application is not approved in an initial round, applicants may reapply in subsequent calls.
The next deadline is 30 June.

Application in 4 steps:
- Submit your application at polidesign.grantplatform.com, selecting Objective 1.
- Wait for the decision via email after the deadline. If you are not selected, you may reapply in the next call.
- If approved, save the confirmation issued by the platform—you may need it in the following steps.
- Complete your registration on the Técnico+ website, selecting the funding option under AI4Gov-X.
Only costs incurred after the application is submitted are eligible. Activities that took place before 1 May 2026 are not eligible. Documentation must be submitted in English, exclusively through the platform.
