Lampsy Health, a member of the IST Spin-Off community, won the “Lisboa, Sul e Ilhas” category of the EmpreendeXXI Awards, an initiative driven by CaixaBank and BPI, which recognises “innovative business projects with growth potential and the capacity to make an impact in their sectors”.

The national final of the 2026 edition took place in Lisbon and brought together finalist startups from across the country. Among the selected projects were two additional teams linked to Técnico: Immersiv Studios and HUMIVERSO.

The PluggableAI – which specialises in developing artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for analysing and engaging with audiences at sporting and cultural events – was the winner in the “Norte e Centro” category. The two winning startups received a cash prize of €6,000, as well as access to mentoring programmes in international innovation contexts and initiatives to connect them with investors.

Lampsy Health develops an artificial intelligence-based medical device for real-time detection of epileptic seizures, aimed at improving safety and quality of life for patients and their families. The solution stands out for applying deep tech to real-world challenges in healthcare. Recently, the startup was also internationally recognised by winning the WIRED Health 2026 Startup Showcase in London, further strengthening its growing presence in the global healthtech sector.
