Talkdesk was founded in 2011 by two Técnico alumni: Tiago Paiva and Cristina Fonseca. The company raises $100 million while being valued at over $1 billion. The $100 million in Series B funding was led by Viking Global Investors with participation from existing investor DFJ. According to Talkdesk “this is the largest round ever raised for a private company in the contact center industry. This funding is strong validation of the company’s current performance and future potential”.

The most innovative companies such as IBM, Glintt, Dropbox and Grupo Avillez use Talkdesk. Tiago Paiva, co-founder and CEO of Talkdesk, is among the list of Top 50 SaaS CEOs of 2018 published by the SaaS Report.
