“The economic fabric still has some difficulty in retaining PhD holders in companies”

Alumni and current students participated in the Alumni Talks - PhD Edition 2022.

The Alumni Talks – PhD Edition 2022 took place on June 8, at Alameda campus, and brought together the President of Técnico, professor Rogério Colaço, the Vice-president of Técnico for financial management, five Técnico alumni and current students. The event was organised by TT@Técnico, in collaboration with Técnico PhD Student Club, and powered by Santander Universities. “What are the career paths that PhD holders can consider?” and “What are the employer perspectives of PhD holders?” were some topics addressed during the event.

Ricardo Magalhães, representative of Técnico PhD Student Club, highlighted the “value of a PhD for employment”. “I hope that Técnico will play an increasingly important role, nationally and internationally”.

The Técnico alumni talked with students about careers and future prospects, and academic backgrounds .
