TL Moto promises to accelerate at full speed next season

The roll-out held this Wednesday showed the evolution of the project, the new electric prototype and the future goals.

TL Moto presented its new electric prototype during a roll-out held this Wednesday, December 12, at Técnico.

Francisco Jesus and João Gaspar, team leaders, hosted the event and presented TL Moto’s most remarkable moments. The president of Técnico, professor Arlindo Oliveira, attended the session and took the opportunity to “praise the quality of the work developed by this student group”. “These exceptional engineering works are done by students who have not yet finished the course”, said professor Arlindo Oliveira. “It is, undoubtedly, an extremely meritorious work and puts Técnico among the best international schools”, he said.

The team leaders explained what lied behind the motivations for creating this student group: “The team wanted to participate in the 3rd edition of Motostudent and, at the time, there was only one category in the competition – combustion category”, shared João Gaspar. Additional challenges have been added throughout the year and now Técnico students are willing to participate in two categories. The team accepted the challenge of competing in the National Speed Championship. According to João Gaspar “through these competitions we gain know-how , which is important for the development of the motorcycle”.

Francisco Jesus presented TL Moto’s performance at Motostudent, showed the motorcycle improvements and talked about the competitive spirit. “Motostudent is more than a motorcycle racing. There are two phases: the project phase that runs throughout the year and the competition phase”, he explained. “After a lot of work and even though we did not get to compete in all racings, we ranked 13th in Best Design category, 21st in Business category and 22nd in General category”, said Francisco Jesus expressing the team’s satisfaction with the results achieved.

Diogo Vicente was announced as TL Moto’s team leader for 2019/2020. “We want to compete in Motostudent 2020, in the electric category, and in the National Speed Championship”, said the new TL Moto’s team leader. “We will make improvements in our motorcycle that will allow us to fight for top positions”, he added.
