ULisboa is the best Portuguese university in QS World Ranking 2020

The university ranks 338th in QS Global World Ranking among more than 1600 universities.

Universidade de Lisboa (ULisboa) stands out again as the best Portuguese university in one of the most important and prestigious international rankings of Higher Education – QS World University Ranking 2020. According to the results released this Wednesday, 19th June, ULisboa ranks 338th in QS Global World Ranking among more than 1600 universities.

ULisboa improved last year’s score (355th) and stayed ahead of Universidade do Porto (353th), Universidade de Coimbra (406th) and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (421th).

The universities are evaluated according to six metrics: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio and international student ratio. ULisboa is among the top 199 universities worldwide in the academic reputation metric.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University and Harvard University ranked in the top 3 of QS Global World Ranking, respectively.

The QS World University Ranking 2020, which is published by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), evaluates the performance of more than 80 universities across 83 countries. The results were based on major global surveys of academics (over 94,000) and employers (over 44,000).
