The academic community of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, can participate free of charge in the International Networking Workshops organised by the Unite! Widening project on 7 April, at LISPOLIS – Association for the Lisbon Technology Hub, in a hybrid format.
The initiative, aimed at researchers, postgraduate students, SMEs, and startups, comprises a series of meetings dedicated to strategic areas of research and innovation to promote the creation of new partnerships between academia and industry, as well as to encourage the development of collaborative projects under the Horizon Europe programme.
The programme features two thematic workshops:
From 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. – The Digital & Autonomous Technologies – Opportunities for Society and Research workshop will address the impact of digital and autonomous technologies on society and research. The Técnico professor José Franca will make a presentation titled “Memories from Analogue Design Automation and Startup Creation”. The programme also includes pitch sessions with companies and researchers, and a presentation on funding opportunities for international R&D projects in the digital field.
From 12.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. – The Health & Biotech – Integrated Health Technologies workshop will focus on the topic of integrated health technologies and future directions of tissue engineering. The session will bring together academic and industry experts to discuss emerging technologies. Topics covered include advanced biological modeling platforms, including bioreactors, Bioactive materials for tissue regeneration and advanced models for biomedical research.
The networking lunch, common to both thematic areas of the day, will include the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding for the creation of an Open Innovation Community.
This initiative is part of the Unite! Widening project, coordinated by Fátima Montemor, a professor at Técnico. The project aims to strengthen European collaboration in strategic areas of science, technology and innovation by expanding the Unite! Alliance network.
Participation is free of charge upon registration. Further information is available on the event page.
