Xpand IT – Experts in Big Data, Business Intelligence, Middleware and Mobile – member of the IST Spin-off community, has been elected by Exame magazine as the best Small and Medium Enterprise (SME). The Portuguese tech company has also been elected the best service company in Portugal for the second consecutive year.
This recognition arises within the scope of the “1000 PME” initiative, promoted by Exame magazine, Informa D&B and Deloitte, with the support of Ageas Insurance. The selection of companies included in the ranking is based on several criteria related to size, legal form, ownership and business organization.
The winners of this year’s edition – 26th edition – were announced last Friday, January 29, during a virtual event, as well as the winners in 21 sectors of activity, and the one that stood out among all.
Xpand IT was founded in late 2003 by two Técnico alumni: Marco Oliveira and Pedro Gonçalves. Currently, with a team of more than 300 experts, the company has been bringing IT innovative projects to life. Xpand IT has a very active social responsibility strategy that has a positive impact on Técnico students: scholarships “Xpand IT, Missão Aproximar – Educação”.
