Instituto Superior Técnico was one of the winners of U-Bike Project, which aims to promote the adoption of more sustainable mobility behaviour through the provision of electrical and conventional bikes in academic communities.

The project is framed under the programme Portugal 2020, particularly through PO SEUR – Operational Programme for Sustainability and Efficient Use of Resources, and will promote the acquisition of bikes in higher education institutions. This project will strengthen the initiative A Pedalar.

According to the Institute for Mobility and Transports, the bikes will be awarded to the academic community for a long-term use, leading to a regular use of this mean of transports.
