Professor Jochen Wambach gives a historical review on matter under extreme conditions

The lecture held on Monday captivated professors, researchers and students.

Professor Jochen Wambach, Director of the European Centre for Theoretical studies in Nuclear Physics and related areas (ECT), in Trent, gave a lecture this Wednesday, November 15, within the IST Distinguished Lecture Series. In his lecture entitled “Matter under Extreme Conditions” the professor gave a historical review on cosmological observations.

According to professor Jochen Wambach, the most recent discoveries in the field physics have unveiled new data and “that’s why the search for hadrons with even more complicated structures,so-called exotic states, will intensify”.

Using different charts, the Director of the European Centre for Theoretical studies in Nuclear Physics and related areas explained the behaviour of matter under extreme conditions in the very early Universe and in violent collisions of heavy ions in today’s particle accelerators.
