Red Bull Basement, developed in collaboration with Microsoft, AMD and Red Bull Ventures, is a global innovation competition designed to empower students and young innovators to turn tech-driven, positive-impact ideas into real-world solutions, often enhanced by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

For the first time, the best teams in Portugal will be invited to the National Final, where a panel of industry leaders and experts will select the winning team to represent the country at the World Final.

This year, in addition to honing their pitch, teams will be required to present a prototype developed without the need for prior coding experience. Applicants will be offered access to the GitHub Student Developer Pack and Microsoft Azure credits to help them describe what they want to build and rapidly turn ideas into working prototypes, even if they don’t have a traditional technical background. The Red Bull Basement Portugal National Final will take place at Técnico Innovation Center powered by Fidelidade on 12 May at 6 p.m.

In 2026, the World Final will take place in San Francisco, California, where the global winner of Red Bull Basement will be announced. The prize includes US$100,000 in equity-free funding, as well as resources and tools designed to support the launch of their business.
