Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo Award celebrates women’s contributions to engineering for the eighth time

Carla Lewark, CEO at the AGI joint venture, won the award in the “Role Model” category. Researchers Sofia Aparício and Eduarda Vaz were awarded in the “Young Alumna” category.
 

“Engenharia e Ciência vão à Escola”: Young people from Lisbon, Loures and Oeiras explored the future of science with the Técnico community

The initiative included more than 60 interactive sessions involving around 1500 students from 1st to 9th grade. Between 18 and 22 November, Técnico professors, students and researchers brought science and technology to almost 30 schools in the three municipalities.

The document ‘Contingency plan for students, teachers, researchers and non-academic staff in the event of a nuclear attack in Ukraine or neighbouring countries’ is available on the school's website.

“Espaço +Física”– the new room will host tutoring and doubt-clearing sessions

Located in the former P1 room on the first floor of the Mathematics/Physics building, this new space will support and promote the teaching and learning of Physics.

Técnico extends exemption from teaching service after parental leave

This unprecedented measure aims to promote equality and mitigate the negative impact of parental leave on research activities. It will be presented at the 8th edition of the Maria de Lourdes Pintasilgo Award Ceremony on 26 November, at 5 pm, at Instituto Superior Técnico.
