Técnico presented dozens of Merit Awards that highlight its partnership with industry

Over two dozen students were recognised for their achievements, emphasising the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in training “future engineers”.

Two years after launching a satellite, Técnico prepares a new generation of space missions

ISTSat-1, the first Portuguese university nanosatellite, is set to be joined by two more satellites—one of which is already scheduled for launch in October of this year.

Five Técnico professors elected members of the Lisbon Academy of Sciences

Three Corresponding Members, one Full Member, and one Emeritus Member of Técnico were elected during the Academy Day ceremony held on 2 July.

Técnico hosted the launch of AMALIA, the first Portuguese open-source Large Language Model

Two teams, consisting of professors and students from Técnico, collaborated on developing the core model and integrating AMALIA’s speech capabilities.

Fifteen Técnico students will represent the School at “one of Europe’s largest innovation acceleration programmes”

The European Innovation Academy will take place in Porto, from 20 July to 7 August, and will bring together students, mentors, and investors from more than 60 countries.
