«Following the success of its first edition, NInTec is pleased to announce the second edition of NInTec Science Days, an interdisciplinary event aiming at sharing knowledge, experience, and some of the latest research developments within the Técnico community, on 28 and 29 October.
NInTec association brings together researchers and staff involved in research activities across the broad and diverse scientific ecosystem under the auspices of Instituto Superior Técnico.
The event is an opportunity to promote cross-fertilization between different scientific areas as well as to establish dialogues between various stakeholders. Thus, the participation of PhD students and Técnico alumni following research careers in industry, SMEs, and business firms is also highly encouraged.
In this new edition, there will be an award for the Best Student Contribution (MSc and PhD), with a monetary incentive to the contributor.
The call for abstracts is open to all scientific areas. Oral and Poster presentations are welcome to the following areas (but not limited to):
- Exact Sciences (Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Computer and Information sciences);
- Applied Life Sciences (Bioengineering, Cell Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, etc);
- Energy, Environment and Mobility (Energy and Environmental Engineering, Territorial Management, Urban Planning and Construction, Transportation Systems, etc);
- Engineering and Production Technologies (Civil Engineering, Electric/Electronic/Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Medical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Aerospace, Process Engineering, Marine Technologies, etc);
- Technology Management and Entrepreneurship ( Decision and Risk, Management and Economics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Public Policies, etc);
- Materials, Microtechnology and Nanoscience (Applied and New Materials; Electronic, Biological and Biomedical devices; Micro and Nano Technologies; among others).
NInTec Science Days 2024 will also address science policy issues in parallel with the main scientific programme.
This event will host a roundtable to discuss the topic of “Evaluation Methods for Researchers and Research Assessment”, featuring invited speakers Cecília Rodrigues, Vice-Rector of Universidade de Lisboa, Miguel Ayala Botto, Vice-President of Scientific Council of Instituto Superior Técnico, Bruno Béu, advisor to FCT‘s Board of Directors.»
