«Técnico is the national partner of the 4th European Fusion Teacher Day, an outreach event on nuclear fusion aimed at secondary school teachers, which will take place on October 6, 2023, from 10 am – 12 am and 1 pm – 4 pm.

The session in Portuguese is coordinated by the Institute for Plasmas and Nuclear Fusion (IPFN), a research unit of Instituto Superior Técnico.

The day will be divided into a domestic session (morning) and an international session (afternoon). In the morning session, we will introduce nuclear fusion in the era of climate change, present research into nuclear fusion carried out in Portugal and how it contributes to the European fusion program. Participants will be able to ask questions and discuss with researchers in the field.

In the international session, there will be a live stream where new (free) educational materials will be presented and there will be talks by researchers from the international nuclear fusion community, providing a privileged view of one of the most extensive scientific collaborations in the world.
