«The Astronomy Summer School (EVA) is an educational and scientific initiative organised by ASTRO – the Astronomy Section of the Physics Group at Instituto Superior Técnico (NFIST). The 7th edition of EVA is scheduled to take place in September 2025 at Técnico – Alameda campus.

This one-week programme is aimed at secondary school students from across Portugal and seeks to spark and deepen their interest in Astronomy, Astrophysics, Cosmology, and Gravitation. Throughout the week, participants engage in a wide range of activities, including astronomical observations, hands-on workshops, planetarium sessions, and other interactive science experiences.

EVA welcomes around 30 students each year, who are mentored and accompanied by undergraduate and master’s students from Técnico, fostering a collaborative and inspiring learning environment. A core mission of the programme is to ensure equal access, making it possible for any motivated student to participate, regardless of their socioeconomic background.»
