Date: 24 February
Hour: 4 p.m.
Venue: Técnico Innovation Center powered by Fidelidade
«Capstone projects are one of the innovations introduced in Técnico’s Teaching Model and Pedagogical Practices (MEPP). Their goal is to consolidate, integrate, apply, and reflect on the learning from various Course Units (UCs) of the first and/or second cycle through multidisciplinary group work based on real-world problems or challenges that can be studied and solved by master’s or undergraduate students.
These projects stand out from other Integrative Project modalities in the first or second cycle because they involve real and complex problems whose solutions require forming teams of students with different academic backgrounds, typically from various Técnico programmes.
Projects can be industry-driven (leveraging the Técnico Partner Network and faculty’s many individual collaborations with businesses), proposed by end users (public institutions, non-governmental organisations, or research units), or initiated by students themselves, including entrepreneurial initiatives with a history at Técnico, such as Students’ Organisations.
In this session of the Contigo+ programme, taking place on 24 February 2025, at 4 p.m., at the Técnico Innovation Center powered by Fidelidade, examples of Capstone projects featuring recently completed master’s theses will be presented, with the participation of students, faculty, and involved companies. This will be followed by a discussion on the process, also featuring company representatives.
Participation in the session requires prior registration.»
