The 12th School on the Physics and Chemistry of the Actinides (12th SPCA) will take place from the 19th to the 21st of March in C2TN, at the Campus Tecnológico e Nuclear of Instituto Superior Técnico in Bobadela.
This school is the perfect opportunity for students and others to acquire knowledge on the different areas related to actinide science, as ab initio calculations, spectroscopies, phonon and neutron scattering, magnetism and electronic structure, coordination and organometallic chemistry, isotopic fractionation and exchange, nuclear forensic, radiological protection, etc.
Just after the 12th SPCA, the international conference 48èmes Journées des Actinides (JdA2018), also organized by Técnico, will be held in Praia de Porto Novo, from the 21st to the 24th of March.
The Journées des Actinides will gather experts, young researchers and students, from Academia and Industry and from everywhere in the world, in an informal meeting to discuss the state-of-the-art of the actinide sciences. Topics regarding the physics and chemistry of the 5f elements, their alloys and compounds will be addressed covering both fundamental and applied aspects.
