The 6th session of CIO@IST will take place on March 8 and will be focused on Sonae. Dr. David Alves, CIO of Sonae group, Administrator of SONAE MC, President of FINCO and responsible for BIT since 2013, will present this session.
Sonae is one of Portugal’s largest business group and has a wide range of activities, many of them with considerable international transactions.
Business Information & Technology (BIT) is the Information Systems area of Sonae, responsible for the design, development and operation of all information systems, both for stores and digital.
FINCO is the Information Technologies Forum of Sonae companies that analyses the new trends and the new IT-based approaches.
In 2016, Dr. David Alves was elected “CIO of the Year” by CIONET and won the Portugal Digital Awards for the work carried out at BIT.
The Information Systems role in large retail groups and the challenges for the next years are some of the topics that will be approached in this session.
