«The Centre for Innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture (CiTUA) is pleased to announce the seminar “Turning Cities into Mega-Event Stages: from Theoretical Considerations to Practical Implementations in Portugal”, which will bring together national and international academics and practitioners dedicated to the hosting of mega-events.

The main objective of this seminar is to contrast academic knowledge on the interrelationship between cities and events, namely relating to the use of urban resources and the impact on the territories and populations, with the practical implementation in major events hosted or to be hosted in Portugal. Additionally, it aims to disseminate and bring awareness on a topic that usually goes unnoticed by event audiences: the city as a stage.

The seminar sessions include panels with some of the most renowned experts in the field and leading stakeholders of the biggest events ever hosted in Portugal.
