Universidade de Lisboa, on a proposal from Faculdade de Arquitetura and Instituto Superior Técnico, will award the Doctor Honoris Causa degree to Françoise Choay. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m., in room Rainha Sonja da Noruega, at Faculdade de Arquitetura.
Françoise Choay was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa in recognition of her significant contribution to the theory and criticism of architecture and urbanism since the 1960s and for her books and innovative articles.
Françoise Choay will be the first woman to receive the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by Faculdade de Arquitetura and the second by Universidade de Lisboa – after Sylvie Deswarte-Rosa, proposed by Faculdade de Belas-Artes, who was awarded on May 11.
