A IEEE Talk with Robyn Farah will take place on November 29, at 5 p.m., in Abreu Faro amphitheatre (Interdisciplinary building).

Robyn Farah’s passion for technology and hardware is helping millions of people in Africa, where she is managing some events such as TechTalkCPT: Teaching a Continent to Code, Arduino Cape Town, Modern Alchemists, and many others.

Robyn started KATO, a company which focuses on product development to solve real world problems in order to create a better world. She is partner in Curiosity Campus, which teaches people all sorts of tech skills from Python, building a robot to creating VR environments.

In 2016 she was listed as one of Mail&Guardian’s 200 Young South Africans . In 2015 she was invited to be a guest lecturer at MIT and to attend the World Maker Faire in New York.

This session will cover topics on how to run tech communities and coding/hardware initiatives in South Africa.
