«On October 18 and 19, Técnico – Oeiras Campus will host JunctionX Lisbon, the Portuguese edition of the renowned global hackathon Junction, organised by a student-driven community dedicated to technological innovation and the co-creation of solutions for real-world challenges.

JunctionX Lisbon is an initiative of the Gradient Association, a non-profit association founded by two PhD students in Mathematics at Técnico, which has the institutional support of Técnico to bring the academic community and the international technological ecosystem closer together.

Over the course of 36 hours, teams of 1 to 5 participants will develop technology projects with real impact. The challenges are proposed by partner companies and institutions and focus on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Technology Serving Society. Additional challenge themes may be announced closer to the event.

The event’s main goal is to connect academia with real-world business challenges and to bridge the Portuguese tech community with the international tech scene. JunctionX Lisbon already features Silver Challenge Partners such as Albatroz Engenharia and Glintt Global, as well as Community Partners including Jane Street and Comudel, with more partners to be announced soon.»
