«The Laboratory of Instrumentation and Experimental Particle Physics (LIP), a research unit affiliated with Instituto Superior Técnico, is pleased to announce the Open Day at its Lisbon headquarters, on 7th December, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The visitors will get to know LIP in Lisbon, but also the places where various experiments take place.

Those who enter the different spaces will be transported to places like CERN, on the French-Swiss border, or the Pierre Auger cosmic ray observatory, on the Argentinian pampas. They can also find themselves in one of LIP’s laboratories or at the bottom of the mine where the SNOLAB laboratory is located, 2 kilometres underground, in Canada, and discover applications for particle physics technologies in places as different as a hospital and interstellar space».
