The Opening of the Academic Year 2016-2017 will include two moments: the solemn session and the commemorative concert.
The solemn session will take place on 13th October (Thursday), at 5.30 p.m. On this occasion, the Universidade de Lisboa 2016 Award will be delivered to Jorge Calado, Emeritus Professor of Instituto Superior Técnico. Those interested in attending the ceremony should confirm presence until 10th October. Professors who wish to participate in the academic procession should also confirm their presence. The academic procession will assemble at 5 p.m. and the use of academic dress is required.
The commemorative concert will take place on October 14 (Friday) at 9 p.m., in Aula Magna and will be presented by Orquestra do Norte, conducted by José Ferreira Lobo, with the participation of the choirs: Coro da Universidade de Lisboa with the soloists Sandra Medeiros, Joana Nascimento, Manuel Gamito, André Baleiro; Associação Coral da Universidade de Lisboa; Coro Eborae Musica; Coro Sacro from ESML and Coro do Tejo.
