«The National Board of Directors of Ordem dos Engenheiros, in close coordination with the Board of Directors of the Southern Region, will organise a Conference on Gender Equality in Engineering on 23 October. This event aims to bring together professionals from engineering and other sectors of activity to present and debate good organisational and business practices on this topic.

The conference will take place in Lisbon, at the National Headquarters of Ordem dos Engenheiros (OE), and will be attended by the President of OE, Fernando de Almeida Santos, the National Vice-President of OE, Lídia Santiago, as well as representatives from academia and the business community. Professor Rita Bento will represent Instituto Superior Técnico and will take part in the 2nd panel entitled ‘Women and Career Progression’, at 12 p.m.

This conference is part of a series of initiatives developed during 2024 to address gender diversity in engineering.»
