Panel discussion: “Voices of Africa in the Digital Age: Literature, Authors, and the Challenges of Digitalisation”

«This initiative is organised by the African Students’ Organisation at Instituto Superior Técnico (NEAIST), in collaboration with the African Academic Federation in Portugal (FAAP), which aims to explore the richness of African literature and its challenges and opportunities in the age of digitalisation.

The panel will be attended by the President of Instituto Superior Técnico, Rogério Colaço, the Commissioner of the National Reading Plan, Regina dos Santos Duarte, author Teresa Damásio, representatives from the PALOP embassies, the young Guinean author Mamadú Saliu Djaló, and will be moderated by journalist Neusa Sousa.

Programme:

  • 4 p.m. – Opening remarks by Pedro Aguiar, President of NEAIST
  • 4.15 p.m. – Speech by Regina dos Santos Duarte, Commissioner of the National Reading Plan
  • 4.45 p.m. – Speech by Mamadú Saliu Djaló, young Guinean author (to be confirmed)
  • 5 p.m. – Speeches by Rogério Colaço, President of Técnico, and Teresa Damásio, author
  • 6 p.m. – Closing session
