«Instituto Superior Técnico, through the Sustainability Unit and URBEM, is pleased to announce the creation of a mini-forest at Alameda Campus.

The landscape rehabilitation initiative unfolds over two decisive days, on November 20 and 27, corresponding to the 3rd and 4th sessions of practical work dedicated to this new green space.

The action kicks off on November 20 with a focus on terrain preparation, through the creation of swales — infiltration trenches essential for water retention —, the control of invasive species, and the opening of paths.

The initiative’s highlight takes place on November 27, when the great planting will be held. During this session, the community will have the opportunity to plant the trees and plants that will give life to the new mini-forest, realising the collective effort to make the campus greener and more resilient.

Under the motto “Be part of the community!”, the organisation calls for the mobilisation of students, faculty, staff, and neighbours to leave their mark on the construction of a more sustainable Técnico».
