Date: 25 September
Time: 9. a.m. – 2 p.m.
Venue: Técnico – Alameda Campus
As part of the celebrations for National Sustainability Day, which will take place on September 25, 2026, a series of initiatives dedicated to promoting sustainability will be held at the Alameda Campus of Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa, aimed at the entire academic community. Between 9.30 am and 1 pm, EPAL teams will be present at different points on campus, distributing water and bookmarks with information and best practices associated with the conscious and responsible consumption of water.
Between 10.30 am and 12 pm, in collaboration with URBEM, a session dedicated to biodiversity will be held within Técnico’s Mini Forest. The activity will take place in two phases: in the first part, next to the Interdisciplinary Building, the URBEM representative will give a presentation on the Miyawaki Method; in the second part, there will be a practical component, involving the participation of the academic community in activities in Técnico’s Mini Forest.
The programme will continue between 12 pm and 2 pm in the North Garden (between the Civil Engineering Building and the North Tower), with a Sustainable Showcooking session led by Francisca Gusmão. During this activity, different 100% plant-based sweet and savory options will be presented and prepared, complemented by an approach to calculating their respective ecological footprint. The session will conclude with a tasting of the prepared options.
The activities are free to participate in and open to the entire academic community, aiming to provide, throughout the morning, different moments of awareness, learning, involvement, and adoption of responsible and sustainable practices.»
