«ElectroDay is an outreach initiative by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DEEC) to promote the study programmes (LEEC, LEAero, LEE, and LETI), research centers, and students’ organisations affiliated with the department.
As part of this event, there will also be the “ElectroCap Demo Day”, which showcases the final activity of the ElectroCap programme.
The ElectroCap Programme is a DEEC initiative that takes place as part of the Capstone curricular unit (PIC1). In this programme, students organise themselves into teams of 6 to solve a real engineering problem, trying to integrate as many concepts acquired during the first cycle as possible. In this way, they are encouraged to develop three very important skills for their future: the ability to use and apply technology to solve problems; the ability to innovate, creating value with their knowledge; and the ability to properly communicate the processes, technologies used and results achieved.
During ElectroDay, the teams participating in the ElectroCap programme will present the results of their work to the community and the general public. Each team will have a booth where they will present their project’s evaluation materials, which include a poster, a pitch deck and a 3-minute video, as well as a prototype demonstration of their solution. Visitors’ opinions on the teams’ project presentations will be taken into account in the students’ assessment.»
