«The Centro de Recursos Naturais e Ambiente (CERENA) is pleased to announce the Técnico Nightjar Annotiathon, an annotation contest of bird images joining science and artificial intelligence. The event will take place from 13 (starting at 5 p.m.) to 14 (ending at 7.30 a.m.) November, at Técnico Innovation Center powered by Fidelidade.

The challenge is simple, yet scientifically significant: teams of two are challenged to annotate the highest number of bird images, identifying the bounding box and four anatomical points on the head: the centre of the two eyes, the beak and the crown of the head. No programming skills are required; just plenty of resilience to get through a whole night of annotation.

Enrolment is free, but mandatory, and begins in September. Enrolment is possible until early November (or until the venue reaches full capacity). Read the full regulation here.»
