The Center for Innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture (CiTUA) at Instituto Superior Técnico is co-organising a webinar on the implementation of the “1.º Direito – Programa de Apoio ao Acesso à Habitação”, with the Center for Studies in Architecture and Urbanism (CEAU/FAUP), the Governance, Competitiveness, and Public Policies Research Unit (GOVCOPP-UA), and the Associação de Estudos de Direito Regional e Local (ADREL). Sílvia Jorge, a researcher at CiTUA, is a member of the organising committee.

The “1.º Direito – Programa de Apoio ao Acesso à Habitação” is a programme to support the promotion of housing solutions for people who live in undignified housing conditions and are unable to access adequate housing.

This webinar aims to take stock of this process, putting into dialogue the diagnoses on which the approved local housing strategies are based, the priorities established and the municipalities’ ability to respond in designing and implementing the projects outlined.

In addition to recognising a changing reality, the aim is to build a balance sheet around the operationalisation of the “1ºDireito” and propose measures that will expand its impact, considering the existing diversity of situations and territories and future sources of Portugal.
