The 1st edition of CQE Days – 2019 Spring Meeting took place on 30th and 31st May, at Lisbon Academy of Sciences and brought together more than 250 CQE researchers.
Tiago Domingos, Técnico professor and researcher at MARETEC talked about the correlation between energy and economic growth. “We usually invite researchers from outside CQE to give the audience a more comprehensive view of the research carried out in each area, and also to disseminate the type of equipment available in other research units”, explained professor José Nuno Lopes, CQE coordinator.
“Our main goal is to promote the cooperation between CQE researchers”, highlights professor José Nuno Lopes. “CQE has grown a lot in recent years, so it’s important that researchers know each other’s work and build bridges of cooperation”, adds the professor.
The activities were organised by the younger researchers at CQE. “We wanted to involve our younger researchers (Post-Doc students and PhD students) and we got an excellent feedback from participants”, says CQE coordinator. “CQE has about 380 collaborators and I would say that over 250 researchers participated in this event”.
The next meeting will be held next Winter and will include a pitch presentation to select the projects that will be supported by CQE. “We want to make CQE the Portuguese’s biggest chemistry research centre, and certainly, the biggest chemistry research centre of Universidade Lisboa”, says professor José Nuno Lopes.
