Applications for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Marine and Maritime Intelligent Robotics (MIR), for the 2024-2025 academic year, are open until 14th January 2024. Approximately 25 scholarships will be awarded.
The integrated MSc in Marine and Maritime Intelligent Robotics (MIR), coordinated at Técnico by Prof. Pedro Batista and Prof. António Pascoal, combines robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the context of advancing marine and maritime science and its technological applications. It aims at building the capacity to foster innovation in far-reaching sea exploration tasks, development of autonomous systems and deep-sea robots for scientific and commercial operations and execution of teleoperation activities while exploiting the use of AI as a complementary tool to meet these goals.
The MIR programme is shaped to provide training in state-of-the-art applied robotics targeted at enhancing the efficiency, health and safety as well as environmental performance of the offshore industry and maritime operations.
Students completing the MIR Master’s will be highly competitive experts equipped with the know-how required to follow a promising career in robotics or AI for the offshore oil and gas, renewable, naval and maritime sectors.
