David Martins, a Civil Engineering PhD student at Técnico, was distinguished by Ordem dos Engenheiros with the 2021 Young Engineer Innovation Award (1st prize), for his work “Seismic behaviour of GFRP structures – Connections, plane and tri-dimensional frames”, supervised by Dr. José Gonilha (CERIS) and by professors João Ramôa Correia (DECivil-CERIS) and Nuno Silvestre (DEM-IDMEC).

This award aims to reward research works that stand out for their innovative nature and practical applicability, honouring the Engineering of the future. The award is delivered annually by Ordem dos Engenheiros – Região Sul since 1990.
